Jaxerson aka Toony
Animal type: Golden Retriever
Age: 2 years
Bio: Jax is a snuggly, lovable, well behaved but yet a little sneaky. Jax loves the cold. He refuses to come in when it is raining or snowing. Sometimes Mom and Dad wonder what the neighbors think. He loves to roll around in snowbanks, mud puddles and especially compost piles. Mom and Dad don’t appreciate how much fun it is, but he does. He loves his toys, wrestling and playing tug of war. Mom and Dad can leave food on the counter but if you leave a turkey sitting there, well then that is just like that one time when Mom left mozzarella sticks on the dashboard…. He loves deer tenderloins very much and should not be left in the sink.
He loves to cuddle. He might not realize how big he is when he lays on top of you or climbs in your lap. He loves to go for walks and especially likes to haul large limbs of trees out of the woods and drag them along for the walk. Mom and Dad love it when he runs past everyone and they get extra exercise by trying to avoid getting hit by the limbs.
What is your ideal day? Jax’s ideal day is his daily walk with Grampy followed by doing guy stuff in the garage. Helping Grammy bring in groceries from the vehicle. Playing with his girlfriend outside. He would also like to see his doggie cousins every day. He would like to snuggle as much as possible. He would like to drive for hours with Mom and Dad and have as many snacks as he can get. Mom and Dad stick to the stores that give out dog treats. We even have to keep an extra stash of treats in case that store or bank didn’t give any that day.
What is your hidden talent? Jax likes to greet everyone with some kind of gift. Typically, it is a dish cloth, towel, shoes, clothing (He doesn’t mind giving out undergarments either), or a bottle or can from the recycling. He is so talented he can fit a big item and two smaller items in his mouth. One time he found an open overnight bag and ran through the camp site with 3 undergarments. He gave the Census worker a bath one hot day when Dad was working outside and left an open drink on the table.
What makes your pet different than the other contestants? Jax can look you right in the eye while doing something naughty, put his paw up for you to hold it and make the most adorable facial expression. Mom and Dad can’t even get mad at him because he is so convincing.
What is your pet’s biggest pet peeve? Jax does not like it when Dad or the rest of the family plays “what is it Jax”? This game consists of any type of object moving slowly towards Jax while they ask him what it is. The result is of course the object eventually moving fast towards him, which makes him bark and growl and jump up and down while moving backwards to get away. This object can be anything from a paper bag to an ice fishing skimmer, but the one thing he gets annoyed with is the tape measure. That thing can reach really far! It’s all in fun though because then he gets excited and tries to wrestle.
What is your ideal partner like? He likes the spicy ones who are not afraid to wrestle, get in trouble but can act innocent. He would like her to play in the woods, compost piles, chicken coops and most definitely the garden. Jax loves to eat fresh vegetables from the garden. Grampy plants extra just for him. He especially loves green beans and carrots. He would share a romantic meal with her. She must like to go ice fishing, long rides in the country and be willing
What will you do if you win? Jax always enjoys new toys. If he wins the big prize than steak will be “doggie supper”.
What survivor skills does you have (if any)? Jax can catch squirrels. He is really good at that. He is fast at recognizing other animals when they get close, especially skunks. He can run fast, swims very well and has a great sense of direction. He is also very good at being a chameleon. Jax sometimes tests his skills when Mom and Dad want him to come inside and he isn’t ready yet. He will sit so still and blend in with his environment and ignore you but watching you.
How long would you last in the wild before returning home? Jax likes his routine, so he would probably come home quite quickly.
What would you do if you were stuck in the house with strange pets all day? Jax would most definitely look at them weird but eventually try to play with them.
Which type of animal would you evict/ vote out? Jax is accustomed to being around chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats and dogs with no ill feeling. Mom and Dad think a snake because if they slowly moved toward him like the “what is it Jax” game, the snake would be gone.
What luxury item does your pet want? Jax would want a Luxury sofa just for him and his girlfriend. The sofa must have an attached end table though because he likes to lay partly on the sofa and his upper half of his body on the end table.
Is your pet the type to cry, scream, throw his/her water bowl at another contestant or standby and watch gleefully? Jax would watch his competition and then make friends.
