Wednesday Wellness: Defeat Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is on the rise in the United States but if you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes, there’s a lot you can do to improve your health. Here are some tips:


Track your diet and carbs. Know how many carbs you’re eating and how often. Include fruit, green vegetables, beans, whole grains and lean meats in your diet.


Get moving. Try walking for 10 minutes five days a week or try HIIT training. HIIT involves alternating between short bursts of increased intensity exercise and rest like running then walking on and off.


Manage your stress. Stress can make blood sugar levels harder to control and can cause sleeping problems. Try relaxation techniques like deep breathing or yoga.


Finally, talk to a doctor about your health!
