Everyone faces pressures when it comes to weight and appearance but for adolescents and teens, these pressures can lead to unhealthy eating habits. So here are some tips on how to help your child lead a healthier life.

Educate yourself about unhealthy eating habits to help avoid judgments or mistaken attitudes.

Avoid bringing attention to how your loved one looks and instead focus on what it means to be healthy and strong.

Frame the conversation in a way that gets them excited. Discuss how eating more fruits, vegetables and lean proteins can help them reach goals that are relevant to their own needs and interests.

Finally, practice what you preach. Shop and cook healthy meals with your child and plan family outings that include physical activity.
