Wednesday Wellness: Struggling at School

Knowing what to do can be difficult when you have a child who is struggling at school. Whether the problems are academic or social, here are a few tips to give them the support they need.


Get to the root of the issue by speaking with your child as well as his or her teacher. And let your child vent about their frustrations.


Put a time limit on work. Talk to your child and teachers about time limits on homework to find the perfect balance. Also, create a comfortable but customized homework station to fit their needs.


Finally, Help your child learn to organize. Develop strategies such as ‘must-do’ lists or create a weekly schedule. Create rules and routines with breaks that will benefit your child.
