Waterville, Maine — Kennebec Behavioral Health (KBH) is proud to announce that it will officially become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) on July 1, 2025—a major milestone in the organization’s mission to strengthen and expand behavioral health services across Central Maine.
This advancement is part of a statewide initiative led by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which is participating in the federal CCBHC Demonstration Program through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Through this designation, KBH will enhance the quality, accessibility, and coordination of care for the nearly 6,000 clients and patients it serves each year.
The CCBHC model enables KBH to offer 24/7 crisis services, enhanced care coordination, and expanded access to peer support and integrated treatment—all with a strong focus on achieving better health outcomes for individuals with mental health and substance use needs.
