KBH provider is 'Social Worker of the Year'

Robert Hamm, who is one of our Clinic and School-Based clinicians, has won the Maine Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers' 2013 Social Worker of the Year Award. He was nominated for the award by the Greater Bangor Area NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People).

Diane Khiel, the Legal Redress Chair for the Greater Bangor Area NAACP wrote this about Robert in the nomination letter, “ His actions demonstrate his skills as a social worker committed to integrating his years of experience and education to help a family in need. In helping them, he hopefully has enlightened a community about racial injustice.”

The Social Worker of the Year Award honors members of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) who exemplify the best of the profession’s values and achievements through specific accomplishments. The group gave him the award at the NASW convention at Point Lookout in Northport in September.
