Every year, on one day, a movement of global giving “reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity.” That day is Giving Tuesday. It’s been over 10 years since the first Giving Tuesday, and it remains just as important as when it started. So, on this day, we ask our community members to help support one KBH program in particular: The Skowhegan Recovery Coaching Center (SRCC).
The SRCC works to reduce the adverse effects of substance use disorders for individuals, families and communities by supporting those in early recovery, in long-term recovery, actively use, and reentering society after incarceration. Peer Recovery Support (PRS), harm reduction and Pathways to Recovery are part of SRCC’s commitment to building a recovery ready community. What is the result? Safer neighborhoods, fewer overdose-related deaths, increased workforce, stronger family units and reduced costs to taxpayers. Finally, individuals achieve their full potential.
All donations made on November 28th will go towards SRCC. We all know the impact substance use has had on our communities, and the SRCC is a vital part of KBH’s efforts to bring healing to our state and help individuals on their paths of recovery. We hope you will join us in bringing attention to the center!
