KBH is accepting 2025 College Scholarship applications for Maine students who will study behavioral health in college.
Kennebec Behavioral Health (KBH) is announcing the availability of its annual college scholarship application opportunity. KBH believes that investing in the education and training of individuals who will become our future behavioral health professionals is critically important. Workforce development specific to mental health and substance use disorder is key to ensuring that KBH will be able to fulfill its mission for many years to come.
KBH is inviting senior high school students to apply for consideration of a one-time $1,000 college scholarship award At least one community-wide scholarship will be awarded to a senior high school student that lives or goes to school in Somerset, Franklin or Kennebec county and does not attend one of the following schools: Cony High School, Erskine Academy, Lawrence High School, Maranacook High School, Winslow High School, Waterville Senior High School, Gardiner High School, Winthrop High School, Mt Blue High School or Skowhegan High School. Students of the aforementioned high schools should check with their Guidance Department for KBH scholarship details and an application form.
This community-wide scholarship is eligible to students who live in or go to school in Kennebec, Somerset or Franklin county. Eligible schools include but are not limited to – Maine Central Institute (MCI), Maine Academy of Natural Sciences (MeANS), Monmouth Academy, Messalonskee High School, Hall-Dale, Carrabec High School, Forest Hills Consolidated School, Madison High School, Upper Kennebec Valley Senior High School, Spruce Mountain High School, Mt. Abram Regional High School and Waterville Alternative High School. Students who live in Kennebec, Somerset or Franklin county and who are homeschooled are also eligible to apply.
To be eligible, students must be accepted at an accredited college, university or technical school, plan to major in a behavioral health field, and have at least a B average or equivalent. Applications are due by May 1, 2025 and will be reviewed by a scholarship review committee at KBH. The selected student(s) will be notified by June 9, 2025.
