Clients benefit from programs and interventions that have been carefully studied and proven effective. The Center also recognizes that the ability to provide effective services rests upon the excellence of its staff, the availability of adequate financial resources, and partnerships with other community agencies, state and local governments, and associations representing families and consumers.

Kennebec Behavioral Health has a $17 million operating budget (FY 2006) with income from private insurance companies, self-pay, Medicaid and Medicare, contributions, foundation grants, and state grants. In response to the high demand for services from people who lack or have minimal insurance, the Center provides over $2.5 million in financial assistance on an annual basis.
